Early Morning Departure – Cusco to Cusipata
We begin the adventure at 4:00 A.M. with hotel pickup in Cusco’s historic center. We travel south toward Cusipata, enjoying sunrise views over valleys, rivers, and Andean mountains during the approximately 2-hour journey.
Andean Breakfast in Cusipata
Upon arrival, we enjoy a traditional Andean breakfast prepared with local products, including fresh bread, coca tea, organic coffee, and regional specialties. This meal provides the energy needed for the adventure ahead.
Transfer to C’ayrahuiri & ATV Training
After breakfast, we continue for about one hour to C’ayrahuiri, a picturesque community at the base of the Vilcanota mountain range.
Here, our professional guide provides a safety briefing and driving instructions, followed by a short practice session to ensure a safe and confident ATV experience.
ATV Ride Through the Andes
We begin the ATV ride through open mountain terrain and scenic high-altitude routes. The journey lasts approximately one hour, passing through stunning landscapes where you can observe alpacas, llamas, and snow-capped peaks.
As we ascend, the air becomes fresher and the views more dramatic, offering one of the best quad biking experiences in Cusco Peru.
Short Hike to Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca)
After the ATV ride, we park the vehicles and begin a short hike of approximately 10 minutes to the Rainbow Mountain viewpoint at 5,100 meters.
At the summit, you will admire the vibrant natural colors of red, yellow, green, and turquoise formed by mineral deposits. You will also enjoy panoramic views of the Andes and nearby glaciers.
Your guide will explain the geological formation and the spiritual importance of the mountain in Andean culture. You will have free time to take photos, rest, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Return Ride & Buffet Lunch
After visiting Rainbow Mountain, we descend back to the ATVs and ride to C’ayrahuiri, enjoying the scenery once again.
We then return to Cusipata, where a buffet lunch with traditional Andean dishes awaits, including vegetarian options.
Return to Cusco
After lunch, we return to Cusco by tourist transport, arriving around 5:00 P.M. This concludes an unforgettable experience filled with adventure, culture, and breathtaking landscapes.
